The annual Women Stepping Forward for Agriculture (WSFA) conference has a long history in Montana. The first conference was held in 2001 in Great Falls and the event has been held annually across the state in past years.

Every year, a group of women leaders from across Montana volunteer for the Women Stepping Forward for Agriculture steering committee that organizes and hosts the annual conference. In past years the USDA has taken the lead in organizing the conference, however in 2015 a group of women agricultural leaders have stepped up to take over the Women Stepping Forward for Agriculture conference.  This group of women, who represent many of the major ag organizations in the state, have plans to make Women Stepping Forward for Agriculture one of the premier women’s agriculture conferences in Montana!
